I would like to make you aware of some research that the IELTS test centre is conducting on Griffith international students as you may see reference to it and/or receive enquiries about it.
Requested by PVC(I), Chris Madden, we aim to undertake a smallscale trial in capstone testing in August i.e. testing international/NESB Griffith students in order to ascertain their English language proficiency towards the end of their degree program. This is exciting and ground-breaking research which is being jointly funded by GI and IELTS Australia.
This opportunity for a free academic IELTS test is currently being communicated to international students via several channels and you may see reference to it in newsletters or come across posters promoting it. It is a real test with real results and differs in no way from any other IELTS test except that candidates will not pay for it themselves. There are eligibility requirements (see flyer below) and students will be screened upon application or enquiry.
Staff may send any queries to myself. Students should be directed to the
ielts@griffith.edu.au email address or to the test centre at Mount Gravatt during office hours.
Regards,
Pamela
